Model turned actress, Bipasha Basu, all set for the release of her film, Bachna Ae Haseeno, has become hot property amongst the ad circles. The dusky actress has succeeded in establishing herself as the biggest brand alongside Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Aishwarya Rai.

Bips has been working hard and managing to bag just the right big endorsements. The enterprising actress who is also launching her own clothes label, Bipasha shall soon be seen posing for Gili, the jewellery brand. Bipasha is also the brand ambassador for Reebok Shoes. The Race starlet has also recently been appointed the brand ambassador of the Pharma major - Cadila Healthcare Ltd. which is a leading pharmaceutical company, for its brand Sugar Free Gold, a leading brand of sugar substitute in India.

John and Abhishek play a gay couple in Dostana?

Finally, the first promo of Dostana produced under Karan Johar’s banner Dharma Productions and directed by Tarun Mansukhani was unveiled along with the prints of Bachna Ae Haseeno. Dostana starring Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Priyanka Chopra and Bobby Deol in the lead is all set for a November 14th release. The film also has a song featuring Shilpa Shetty dancing along John and Abhishek on the Miami beaches.

What makes the promo interesting is the only dialogue said in it by John standing next to Abhishek - ‘Hum Gay Hain!…Yeh Mera Boyfriend Hai’ (pointing to Abhishek). Karan Johar had promised in his earlier interviews that his Dostana will feature a never before heard of a love triangle. Now we have understood what he really meant! The slick promo also features a lot of skin display what with Priyanka Chopra in a swimsuit walking on the Miami beaches and and John Abraham too ala Baywatch! Interestingly, there were a lot ooh aahs by the female audience in the cinema halls when John the camera was shown caressing a bare bodied John Abraham.

According to sources the plot of Dostana is - “John and Abhishek play best friends who are willing to do anything for one another. Abhishek falls in love with Priyanka Chopra but Priyanka falls for John. When John knows this, he pretends to be gay so that Priyanka opts for Abhishek. But matters complicate further on arrival of Bobby Deol who plays a real gay, as he ends up falling for John!”

Hansika Motwani Meets with an Accident

Hansika who is in Hyderabad currently shooting for her film “Maska” met with an accident recently while she was on her way to the shoot. Luckily, Hansika escaped unharmed except for an injury to her hand. The accident happened near Banjara hills and she was immediately taken to a hospital to be seen to. After tending to her hand, she was released in an hour.
                                                                                                         
When the unit people came to know of the accident, they insisted that Hansika take rest and cancel the day’s shoot. But Hansika did not feel the accident warranted wasting an entire day of the shoot and the producer’s money and turned up on the sets much to the surprise of everyone. But knowing how dedicated Hansika is when it comes to her profession, it’s not really surprising!!!

Q. How would you like to define fashion?
A. Fashion for me is feel good factor with clothes one wear. It has to be well fitting outfits which look beautiful and make you feel free.

Q. Where do you generally buy your dresses from?
A. I like to buy them from outside India only. I feel that Indian clothes are even costlier than the ego of Indian designers. I simply can’t afford them.


Q. Which brand do you prefer the most?
A. There are many brands that I like but I love Karen Miller the most. And not to forget Kwali for their animal prints.

Q. Do you enjoy fashion shows?
A. Yeah. Sometimes.

Q. Who is your favourite fashion designer?
A. No one from India as because their design and price for the designs are quite in contradiction. A rupees ten thousand sari does never look like they worth the money.

I love children: Priyanka Chopra

Rajnee Gupta shared time with the actress to know about her character, the film and of course little more…

Q. What the film Chamku is all about?
A. Chamku is quite a realistic film. Every audience will relate one or the other stage of his life to the film. It’s not a usual glamorous film at all. Songs of the film are also very melodious. Whenever I travel in my car I play two songs from the film. One of them is Aaja milke… which is simply mind-boggling.

Q. After Kismat and Barsaat, it’s now time for Chamku. How do you feel about this Bobby-Priyanka trilogy?
A. I started my career with Vijeta Films. My first film, Big Brother, which got released in the last year, was with Sunny Deol. I still can’t forget the day I received my first check as an actor from the Vijeta. I have an emotional bondage with the banner and I am really happy to have the chance to work with Vijeta once again.

Kareena Kapoor’s double treat on box office!

Come October and all Kareena Kapoor fans can look forward to a double bonanza. Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal Returns starring Czarina of Bollywood hits the theatres at the end of October. Sources reveal that after Jab We Met, Kareena will be attempting hard core comedy and will be a riot in the film. Kareena plays the character of Ekta, who is a soap addict for the saas bahu kind of serials. Reports are that she is simply amazing!


Around the same time Billoo Barber releases too that has Kareena performing on an item song. Sources have it that the song that Kareena dances is one is the highlight of Billo Barber.

There is no ghost in Phoonk: Ehsaas Channa

She is just ten but she knows very well to portray every character; whether it’s of a boy or a girl. Even many senior actors perspire in front of this nanha kalakar, Ehsaas Channa. She shared few moments with Rajnee Gupta talking about her forthcoming feature ‘Phoonk’ and the experience of working in a black magic film. Let’s have a look…

Q. How is your experience of working in a film like Phoonk?
A. It’s truly great. I enjoyed working with all the co-actors and especially Ramuji. They all helped me a lot and I learned a lot from them.

Q. Children are generally found scared of spirits and black magic kind of things. But you portrayed the central character of a film like Phoonk. How did you find it?
A. I enjoyed it a lot. My mom helped me lot preparing myself for this character. Though it’s a horror flick, there is no ghost in this movie. It’s looking most eerie because of the sound effects and camera angles. As you know, it’s highly expected in a Ramuji film. No one can doubt about him being a genius.

What is the advantage of having a sister? The best part being that both of them having the same height and foot size. The answer is that they can share their clothes and footwear, too. This turns out to be quite reasonable in terms of shelling out extra bucks from your pocket. Unfortunately our Bollywood Industry has made it a point that no celebrity repeats her clothes twice. All thanks to media who do not leave a single chance if they see a costume worn twice by any celebrity. Unfortunately the very well known and famous ‘Shetty Sisters’ forgot to follow the rules.


In a photo shoot we noticed a common costume worn by both the sisters. It looks like the photographer was impressed by one of them who wore it and automatically imagined the other one, too, in that ultra sexy peach color costume (all thanks to his highly creative imagination). This resulted in both the sisters flaunting the same costume in their respective portfolios.

During the start of their respective careers none of the two could make a mark for themselves. It’s only later on that they capitalized. That time the thought of ‘sharing is caring’ suited a lot but obviously the ‘demand and supply’ of the ‘Shetty Sisters’ have increased considerably after the elder one, Shilpa, won the U.K based famous reality show, ‘Big Brother’. On the other hand, Shilpa is trying hard to push Shamita in the next season of ‘Big Brother’. Guess what, Shamita, here again, will be in her sister’s shoes, if not costume.

Aamir Khan controlling Imran’s career?

The credit of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’s box office success to a large extent definitely goes to Aamir Khan and there is no single doubt about that. The aggressive manner in which Aamir pitched it across the media all over and the hype it generated thanks to his omnipresence in all the film related events undeniably helped the film achieve greater success. Now Aamir extending his Maamujaan part further is making sure he doesn’t end up making the same mistakes that he had done after the stupendous success of his debut film, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. Aamir had signed up a whole lot of nonsensical films which had ended up turning turkeys at the box office. He wants Imraan to learn from his mistakes.


Sources tell us, “A few big banners approached Imraan in the last few weeks but he turned them all down one by one and now we have found out why! One big shot corporate had approached Imraan with a tempting offer just as the signing amount, but the young newcomer declined it there and then since no script was offered along with. Any script offered to Imraan first goes to Aamir. After weighing the various pros and cons of the offered project, Aamir then has a meeting with Imraan. In this meeting he puts forth his points and leaves it up to his nephew whether he should accept the film or not. Now who will dare to challenge to the super judgement of Aamir Khan who has not taken a single wrong step in last few years when it comes to choices of films.”

“Imraan is not finding it dominating but considers himself lucky that he has got a great mentor in his Maamujaan.” the source concludes.

Shilpa Shetty offers condolence to rival Jade Goody

Shilpa Shetty has offered her condolences to her one time rival Jade Goody after the latter was diagnosed with cervical cancer.

The Big Brother star had been appearing on the Indian version of the reality show - known as Bigg Boss - when she was informed of the diagnosis and has flown home to the UK.

And Bollywood actress Shetty, who was the target of alleged racism from Goody when they both appeared on Celebrity Big Brother has offered her support to her former housemate.

“I’d like to say on behalf of the people of India that we wish her well and our prayers are with her,” she told GMTV.

“It’s so sad for someone so young to be diagnosed with such a dreadful illness - it’s horrible,” Shetty added.

Goody’s appearance on Bigg Boss had been billed as an attempt to rehabilitate her image after being accused of racism towards Shetty.

Not in good ‘KKOMPANY’ oops C Kkompany!

We all know by now about Ekta’s belief in numerology and her fixation with the alphabet ‘K’. No wonder, her next release to re-launch ( pun intended ) brother Tushar Kapoor has been titled ‘C Kkompany’.

Noted astro numerologist Bhavikk Sangghvi challenges that Ekta’s ‘lucky alphabet’ may have worked for her many a times in the past, but it will fail miserably this time since it is done with half knowledge.

Bhavikk explains, “The original title of ‘C Company’ would have added up to Number 32 ( 3 + 2 = 5 Mercury ) which happens to be one of the best numbers for Ekta since she is born under the zodiac sign of Gemini ( 7th June ruler Mercury Number 5 ) “.


“Starting from August 23 till September 22, this period will once again fall under the vibrations of Mercury ( The Sun is placed in the zodiac sign of Virgo which is ruled by Mercury No.5 ). Hence, the title and the release date of 29th August would have been in complete sync with each other. Then, why tamper the spelling with a ‘K’ ? ” he questions.

Bhavikk adds ” The current title adds up to Number 33 ( 3 + 3 = 6 ) which no doubt is a powerful number but Number 6 is ruled by Venus, the planet of love, peace and harmony. Does ‘C Kkompany’ appear to be a love story from any angle?. Then why bring the title to vibrate on Number 6 ? ” he raises the question in disbelief.

It happens only with Aamir Khan!

Aamir Khan must be the only film personality of recent times whose every single release whether as an actor, director, producer or all of the three combined brings along clashes of some kind from the Bollywood industry people. It is being observed right from the release of his Dil (1990) which clashed with the action thriller Ghayal then followed by Lagaan (2001) which had a mighty opposition in the partition saga Gadar, Ek Prem Katha continued with Taare Zameen Par (2007) along with the comic caper Welcome and finally Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na with Love Story 2050.

Firoz Nadiadwala producer of Welcome had sent feelers to Aamir to postpone the release of his directorial debut Taare Zameen Par so that it does not clash with his multi-starrer Welcome. But Aamir chose to ignore it. Then when just recently his produced Jaane Tu was nearing release, Love Story 2050 maker Harry Baweja went on to meet Aamir to request the postponing of his Jaane Tu so that his son, Aamir did not budge and went ahead to clash it with Love Story 2050. The result was there for everyone to see. While Jaane Tu captured the box office and audience’s hearts, Love Story 2050 was declared the biggest dud of 2008. Now its déjà vu again for Aamir as industry sources confirmed to us about Subhash Ghai sending feelers to Aamir to re arrange the release date of his Ghajini.

A source tells us, “Subhash Ghai’s Yuvraj starring Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Zayed Khan and Katrina Kaif was originally planned to release in the Diwali week, on October 24th. But then as its shooting got postponed thanks to Salman Khan and his 10 Ka Dum shooting, the release was pushed ahead further. Ghai then planned for a release around the 2009 Republic Day. But just a few days back Salman allotted his dates to Ghai to shoot his remaining portions in a few weeks time now. Because of this it became possible for him to wrap the project just in time for a year end release. So keeping 26th December as the release date, he had started his planning only to realize, Aamir’s Ghajini was slated for a release on 26th December. Yuvraj is Ghai’s most ambitious film to date and after a huge flop like Kisna his reputation is definitely at stake. He doesn’t want to take any chances with his film this time as last time Madhur Bhandarkar’s Page 3 released with his Kisna had completely overshadowed Kisna in all departments including the box office run. Now therefore he has started sending feelers to Aamir to either post pone or pre pone his Ghajini. Aamir it is learnt has still not given his reply on this matter yet and is very likely that he is not going to budge this time around too!”

Arjan Bajwa - The Right Wing Actor

Politics is not meant for everyone. Only the very tough and the determined can survive here. So also is Bollywood. Actors can be politicians but a politician as an actor is a rare breed. But, here is one actor who is not shying away from politics just because politics is a much maligned profession. Arjan Bajwa might only be two films old but he has already proved that he has what it takes to make a star. This ‘model’ actor with a fabulous physique has an intelligent mind at work as well. With veteran actors trying their hand at politics in spite of all the name, adulation and money that Bollywood could get for them, it is but obvious that there is more to the lure of the politics than what we confess to. And our Arjan happens to have politics in his blood. He is the son of S.S.Bajwa, the BJP ex-Deputy Mayor of Delhi. So, for him politics is more a call for duty than a way to grab power. No wonder he is always there to support the party. If called for to campaign he is more than willing to do whatever he can for the party. Salman Khan is unwell

Salman Khan is resting at home thanks to a tummy upset that lead him to fall sick. Last week he reported on the Yuvraj sets not feeling well but eventually abandoned this shoot after vomiting, reveal unit sources.

Sources further added, “Salman was not feeling well on his arrival on sets so he was resting for a while before starting his shooting. But then as he started vomiting continously, he decided it was pack up time for him for the day. He left the sets immediately to go home and take rest. It was a result of a stomach upset as he was heard saying so to the production members.”

“Only a few days of shoot for Yuvraj is left as the film is almost complete. But now with Salman’s participation being a must in it, the shooting has been completely stopped until he gets well and ready to shoot. It may now happen in next month only.” the source concluded.

Yuvraj is going to release on November 21st and the music launch of the film is to take place on October 1st. The film also stars Katrina Kaif, Anil Kapoor, Zayed Khan and Boman Irani.

Esha Deol goes chanting with Tattoo

Esha is chanting these days. Speaking more precisely, her beautiful back is chanting these days. Still can’t get it.


Esha has got a tattoo made on her back which recites lines of the famous ‘Gayatri Mantra’. She has got the tattoo made on her right back part of her upper shoulder.

We really wish to know what gave her this unique idea of having Gayatri Mantra. Guess she’s becoming religious these days. Somebody please ask Esha to recite a few lines too (conditioned to, if she knows any).

Isha Koppikar almost ate near a kachre ka dabba!

So, everyone talks about getting into the skin of the character to get a more realistic performance. Isha Koppikar takes the involvement to the next level in that case! For Ram Gopal Varma’s Shabri, it wasn’t just the look that Eesha worked on. During the shoots of the film Eesha got so involved that she did things in real life which nobody can think of. Let’s begin with her look. To look like a slum girl, Eesha didn’t wax her body, didn’t pluck eyebrows, didn’t use any beauty products and, in fact, did not even comb her hair! On one incident, RGV production was shooting in a slum area of Mumbai and during the evening snacks break, when a spot boy brought snacks for Eesha, unmindfully, instead of going to her make-up van to eat, she sat near a dustbin to eat like a street beggars! She didnt realize that next to her was a dumping ground. It was only when her make-up boy came and said “Didi, aap yaahan kyun baithi hain? Make up van mein chaliye,” that she realised where she was sitting. “I was so engrossed in my chraacter that I didn’t even realize what I was doing. If my make-up boy hadn’t made me realize that I was sitting beside a dustbin I would have had my snacks there,” says Eesha. It is also heard that it took a couple of hours to put make-up on her body and face. She even lost weight and changed her walking style also. Of course it got too much for her and after the shooting, Eesha fell sick and was on complete bed rest.

Sunny Deol’s The Man delayed

Sunny Deol’s next directorial venture, The Man has yet again been delayed! But this it has nothing with Sunny to do with it. It so happened that, Sunny was shooting in Goa just a few days back and since he at the same time also wanted to update the script of his The Man which he is writing and co-directing with Neeraj Pathak (Apne writer) he called Neeraj to Goa. But as soon as Neeraj landed in Goa and checked into his hotel room, he caught up with viral fever.

Poor Neeraj Pathak got laid in bed for almost 6-7 days’ stay there with very high temperature and physical weakness. Post a week as he got just a little better, the first thing that Neeraj did was that he caught a flight back to Mumbai. Sunny Deol had no option but keep twiddling his thumbs with zero progress about what he was expecting from Neeraj’s trip! Now though Sunny is back in Mumbai and so is Neeraj, the promotions and subsequent release of his home production Chamku is keeping him very busy. All of this resulting in a further delay to his ambitious venture, The Man. The film has Shilpa Shetty starring opposite Sunny yet again post Apne.

Deepika Padukone is the fittest star in Bollywood: Govinda

Q. You have been for a long time now in Bollywood. Which were your best days of your professional career?
A. Starting from Shola Aur Shabnam to 1997 released film Bade Miya Chote Miya, was the best period of my life as during that period I did some good roles and that too with innocence.

Q. Now too the innocence in visible in the roles you play. How do you manage to treasure that innocence?
A. As one takes care of his/her house so that it looks attractive to him/her as well as others. Likewise one should also make sure to regularly clean his/her mind thinking of Saraswati Maata. I also do the same thing.

Q. Now-a-days you are known to divert your attention more towards spiritualism; any special reason behind it?
A. I am moving towards spiritualism due to my mother. For the start, I was very hot-tempered and had to indulge in fights. But once I got inspired by my mother’s teachings and became her student, life changed for me. I learnt a lot of good things from my mother. At the same time I learnt that those who are hot tempered get to meet people who are much more hot tempered than him/her.

Sonu Sood joins the Govinda Gang!

Sonu Sood had a taste of the dahi-handi celebrations both on-screen and off-screen too. The actor was shooting over the weekend at the Kandivili Studio’s for UTV’s Dhoondte Rahe Jaaoge, directed by Umesh Shukla. Sonu’s co-stars including Soha Ali Khan and Paresh Rawal.

A Janmashtami sequence was shot with Sonu on Saturday. The Govinda Yuva Mandal, a professional dahi handi group,was hired for the shoot. Says Sonu, “It was a coincidence that we shot the dahi handi sequence on the Janmashtami eve.” Adds the actor, “When I had to break the handi, I was thrilled and everyone on the set was also excited. There were six pyramids and I had to climb up and break the handi. Though it’s a first time for me but I did it with full confidence.” After the shoot the Govinda Yuva Mandali asked Sonu and the rest of the cast to do a festival ritual. “They played the Nasik dhol and dance with them. I happily agreed to be a part of the festive mood.” Says Sonu. (SAMPURN)

Bollywood’s costliest song ever!

Salman Khan has given a lot of creative contribution to the song of Veer which was shot with a budget of Rs 3.5 crore. Directed by Anil Sharma, Veer is written by Salman himself and also stars a newcomer actress whose name has been kept a secret by the makers of the film along with Sohail Khan and Mithun Chakraborty.


Sources inform, “Salman Khan, Sohail, Mithun and the new starlet participated in a 11 day long marathon shooting schedule for this particular song in a Mumbai studio earlier this month. The song also had around 600 junior artists dancing along with the main stars. Salman’s contribution to the song had begun right from the conceptualisation of it to helping in executing in it all. Salman personally took part in all the discussions with the creative team of the film and the choreographer before the shooting of this song began. He offered valuable suggestions which were accepted by all unanimously. Also, he was present on all 11 days even at times when his part was not being shot. Salman has been extremely passionate about this particular song which he thinks shall be the film’s biggest highlight.”

“With a budget crossing Rs 3 crore this song has become the costliest song over taking a Jodha Akbar song shot on Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai in Karjat’s ND Studios last year.” the source concluded.

Aditya Chopra and Rani Mukherji had a fight?

According to inside sources, Aditya Chopra and Rani Mukherji had a fight amongst themselves. As a result of which, they both had even stopped communicating with each other.

Sources revealed, “Rani was upset by the treatment her once special banner, Yash Raj films had been meting out to her post the flopping of her Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic. She was getting the feelers about her no longer being the blue eyed girl of the prestigious banner. There was no big project announced keeping her in mind and she only had just one film with them that too being directed by a debutant director. But she had kept quiet over this matter despite it all being extremely frustrating for her. Just later then, Aditya Chopra confronted her over a matter that came in the press. It is a well known fact that Adi likes to maintain huge secrecy concerning his projects. He was therefore very miffed with Rani that she spoke some off the record things about her film with Yash Raj to her media friends. What she spoke to them came out in the press and Adi didn’t like it one bit. But as he confronted her over this all her boiled up anger came out and she questioned him over his changed attitude towards her post the flopping of TPTM. Well this further led to a huge argument between the two and they both parted ways refusing to talk to one another. But just a week later Adi took the first step in reconciling their spoiled relation and asked for a meeting with her. Rani agreed and after this meeting they were back to being friends again!”

No Marriage plans with John Abraham: Bipasha Basu

When I meet her for this interview at Yashraj Studios, Bipasha Basu tells me that she is more than happy with the fact that since the time that she had made her debut in Bollywood with Abbas-Mustan’s Ajnabee, she has made rapid strides as an actress in the last eight years and carved for herself a niche in the industry. “It has been a learning process for me from Ajnabee till my latest release- Bachna Ae Haseena. Lara Dutta: The water baby

It seems like our Bollywood stunner, Lara Dutta had quite an awesome time while shooting for her upcoming film ‘Blue’ in the Bahamas. It looks like Lara is quite the water baby! as for the film, she swam with sharks and rode on a dolphin’s back and even though this might make you think she’s playing the role of a mermaid, that isn’t the case. If you think that is exciting, Lara even managed to balance herself on the noses of two dolphins!!! Must say that’s quite impressive for someone who until recently didn’t even know how to swim! Aditya Narayan: New Sa Re Ga Ma Pa challenge host on Zee

He made his debut in playback singing as a ten-year-old with veteran Asha Bhosale in 1995 in the blockbuster movie ‘Rangeela’ about tension of going to school and drinking milk.

Child singer Aditya Narayan, son of well-known playback singer Udit Narayan, later went on to act in films like ‘Pardes’ and ‘Jab Pyar Kissi Se Hota Hai’ as a child artist.

The 20-year-old singer now will host the Zee TV’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007, which goes on air from tonight.

At the very beginning we got to clarify that ‘A Wednesday’ is not a film based on the Mumbai train blasts or a sequel to ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’ which too was about the blasts that rocked the city two years ago.

This modern master piece tells the story of certain events that unfold between 2 and 6 p.m. on a Wednesday in Mumbai; events that do not exist in any record.
