New Delhi, Jan 06: When he started his career in the early 1990s, music maestro Alla Rakha Rahman wouldn`t have thought his popularity will skyrocket to such an extent that budding as well as established musicians alike would swear by his name nearly two decades on.
Rahman, who turned 43 Tuesday, is an inspiration for many. For instance, acclaimed singer Sukhwinder Singh gives the credit of his success to the composer.“Rahman has been a catalyst in my success because when everyone turned me down and ridiculed my song `Thaiyan thaiyan`, he was the only one to believe in me. With a few changes in lyrics, he gave me my first big success in the form of `Chaiyyan chaiyyan`," Sukhwinder told IANS in an interview.With 11 Filmfare Awards to his credit, Rahman has achieved the status of legend in the lives of upcoming singers who dream to work with the composer, at least once.

Ash Abhishek Having Fights???
Well, the sources say yes. The perfect looking couple, who seem to have no fights, has finally started to live a normal married life. And with a normal married life, come the enhancement called fights. But then, this couple seems to not know how to deal with it. Recently, at IIFA, the male Bachchan seemed to have lost his temper on Ash and the couple was found screaming so much that the voices could well be heard outside their room.Apparently, the reason was the typical eager-to-catch-attention nature of the actress. While Jr. Bachchan tried to keep her low in an award function, the lady was busy being over expressive with Kunal Kapoor at an award function. This allegedly made Bachchan to excuse himself and Ash, to take her to a corner and talk about the issue. Ash seemed to be unconvinced and thus the duo, later had a huge fight!!Now, this is like what it is to be really MARRIED!!!

Bollywood celebrates Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi
Yashraj Films reeling under the impact of a series of setbacks in 2007-2008 is all set to make a grand comeback to the bigtime with its latest release Rab Ne Bana De Jodi.In spite of the terror attacks two weeks ago and the downward curve in Yashraj’s recent image, the film had a massive opening which is expected to get better over the weekend and past it.
Roshan Singh a leading exhibitor of Bihar sums up the unexpected euphoria surrounding the latest Shah Rukh Khan starrer. “It’s opened to full houses, the best opening I’ve had for a Yashraj Film in the last two years.
I should know, because my theatre screens all the Yashraj films in Patna. People love the film. Nobody expected Ran Ne to be such a sweet love story. Shah Rukh as an ordinary small- town guy proves he is truly the king. And the new girl Anushka is a revelation.”

Bollywood plans movies about mumbai attacks
MUMBAI, India (AP) — Filmmakers in this hub of Indian cinema are already exploring how to bring the trauma of the deadly three-day siege of Mumbai to the big screen, an industry official said Thursday.
At least 25 titles — including “Taj to Oberoi” and “Mission Taj” — have been registered with the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association since the attacks that killed 164 people last month, Anil Nagrath, secretary of the Bollywood trade association, told.
Many of the registered titles center around the luxury Oberoi hotel and the Taj Mahal, whose burning dome became of the symbol of the attacks — including “Taj 26,” “Taj to Oberoi,” “The Taj Encounter,” “11/26 Operation Taj,” “Mission Taj” and “Mission Oberoi.”
One proposed project is called “Nariman House” after the Jewish center where the attackers killed a rabbi and his wife, he said by telephone.
The Taj, the Oberoi, Nariman House and Mumbai’s main train station were among 10 sites in the commercial capital targeted by 10 suspected Islamic terrorists.
Nagrath denied that Bollywood, as India’s Hindi-language film industry is known, is capitalizing on a national tragedy.
“Whenever there is a big happening like this, be it a cyclone, be it a hurricane, be it a bomb attack or a carnage like this, the journalists write articles, television stations make special programs, authors write books,” he said. “In the same way, for the filmmaker, the only option is to make a script, and the process of making a script begins with a title.”
All the projects are still in early stages and are unlikely to be made soon because “the wounds are very raw,” he said.
Veteran director B. Subhash, who registered the titles “Taj Terror” and “Bird’s Point of View Taj Terror,” said he is working on his script and hasn’t cast any actors or set a budget.

SMS reveals the climax of Ghajini
Just when the audiences started queuing up for booking their tickets for Aamir Khan-starrer Ghajini, a chain SMS started playing spoilsport by revealing what could possibly be the climax of the film.
“Someone killed Aamir’s girlfriend and he lost his memory. Then he tries to find out the killer. Suspens… Aamir himself is the killer. Now enjoy Ghajini!” says the SMS that has been doing the rounds on the mobile phones for the past few days.
Whether the SMS is true would only be clear once the film releases on Thursday. However, several people have received this SMS through known as well as unknown sources.
Says 22-year-old Surbhi Pant: “I received this SMS a few days back. I was very irritated after reading it because I wanted to watch the film. Now I don’t know if it is true or not. Deepika to replace Katrina?
Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone attended the music release of their forthcoming film Chandini Chowk to China. This is the first time, that both the actors will be seen together in a film. The two are said to have amazing onscreen chemistry, so will they be the next sizzling onscreen couple? Will the Deepika-Akki jodi replace the Katrina-Akki onscreen chemistry? Akshay Kumar's films have had more success at the box-office than the Khans, he has managed to dish out hit after hit. And his good luck seems to often rub off on his co-stars in his films, like Katrina and Priyanka. So no doubt Deepika is hoping that Akki's good luck will rub off on her too. Sources claim that the film is partly based on Akki's real life story before he became an actor, so will this real life inspired story bring Akki more success in his real life?
Akki is known to recommend his co-stars to directors like he did with Katrina and Priyanka. So will he soon be recommending Deepika's name? Deepika has been seeing hearthrob Ranbir Kapoor.
