Recently, Kareena Kapoor had to shoot for 36 hours without a break.

Recently, Kareena Kapoor had to shoot for 36 hours without a break.
The actress has a choc-a-block schedule, thanks to film
like Kambakkht Ishq, 3 Idiots, Agent Vinod, Mr and Mrs Khanna and an untitled movie by Rensil D’silva – all of which are bein shot in different locations. Says a source, “She just went rushing from one set to another, shooting continuously without complaining about tiredness or lack of sleep. The unit members of her films were saying this is what stars are made of.” Well, all we can say is, keep it up, gal!

Shah Rukh to fly down with his team from South Africa to vote

The Elections never seemed more special, what with the whole Bollywood fraternity pitching their vote bank with abundant accountability. While many of the A-Listers like Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan will make sure they're in Mumbai on April 30 to cast their vote, Shah Rukh Khan is going to go a step further. He will be flying down from South Africa with his 'Knight Riders' team just for a day on April 30 to cast their vote before flying back for their next match. According to sources King Khan has requested Vijay Mallya who hosts a rival IPL team to lend him a private jet to make the whirlwind visit back a home possible. Says a source close to the iconic actor, "Shah Rukh is very particular about exercising his voting rights. There was no way he'd miss the chance to cast his vote, or let his team members skip this important day in the Indian calendar. He's very clear on the matter and would've insisted on heading home on April 30 even if a match was scheduled that day." Shah Rukh has even inspired rival team-leader Preity Zinta to not slip up on her democratic rights. Preity too will head back home on voting day with her team. However, Shilpa Shetty and her team would have to skip the vote as they have a match on April 30.

Kangna bonds with Sush didi

Kangna intends to have a ball on the sets of her first comedy No Problem.

“So far I’ve never had fun on the sets. All the character I’ve played have been introverted and troubled. So I’ve been in my shell. During Fashion Madhur Bhandarkar used to scold me for being in a shell all the time. But if I play insecure paranoid characters I can’t be laughing and playing around. But it was the nature of the characters. For Anees Bazmi’s film I’m changing completely. I’m going to organize parties on the sets, constantly crack Santa-Banta jokes and most important of all, I will bond with Sushmita. Hopefully our bonding will last beyond one film.” After signing a film together, Sushmita Sen has taken the lovely Kangna Ranaut under her wings. Always known to be warm towards her co-stars Sushmita has taken a special fancy to Kangana because of her facial resemblance to Sushmita’s daughter Renee. Says Kangna, “On the first day that we met we struck a special chord in each other’s hearts. I was standing at a premiere and she came up to me. She held my face in her hands and said I’ve hair exactly like her daughter. And that whenever she saw me she was reminded of her daughter. From that moment onwards we bonded. Luckily I play Sushmita’s sister in the film that we’re doing together. I love calling her Didi.” Kangna is pleased as hell to be finally doing comedy. “I was really hurt when people said I was destined only to play tragic roles. I wanted to do comedy for the longest time. And that I’ve Sushmita playing my sister in the film is an added bonus. We’ll have a ball playing sisters.” The film is Anees Bazmi’s comedy No Problem produced by Anil Kapoor. Says Kangna, “I had decided whenever I do my first comedy it would have to be either with Anees Bazmi or David Dhawan. Everyone thought I was wrong for the part in No Problem. No one was convinced I could do comedy, not after playing all those traumatized roles. But Anilji convinced everyone that I could do it.”

Kareena Kapoor turns to power yoga

Everyone knows how particular Kareena Kapoor is when it comes to her fitness. This diva would be next seen in Sajid Nadiadwala’s “Kambakkht Ishq”. The promo was an instant hit and it’s already become the much awaited movie of the year.
Without any doubt, this is going to be the biggest movie of the year. Not only it contains the biggest Bollywood star but it also contains the Biggest Hollywood star. Akshay and Kareena’s chemistry is the talk of town. Kareena plays a super model in the movie. They used to shoot the whole day and it was very tiring on the whole team, even then Kareena used to take out time everyday after the shoot to do power yoga. Kareena has turned her attention to yoga and maintaining the body the healthy way. Yoga is always considered as the best way to maintain body. Kareena is looking extremely hot in the movie. She gives a very Hollywood kind of feel.

Salman to give discount in recession

Industry sources say that Salman Khan (controversy’s favourite child) is on paper, the highest paid Bollywood actor.“Salman has reportedly been signed for London Dreams for Rs 30 crores,’’ says our source. We messaged Vipul Shah but he remained unavailable for comment. The source however maintains that Salman may re-negotiate his price; and actually offer the makers a discount because of the global meltdown. The interesting thing in this whole narrative is not what Salman will ultimately charge for London Dreams; but the fact that the actor has allegedly charged Boney Kapoor only Rs seven crores for the film Wanted Dead Or Alive. Our source maintains that, “Salman knew Boney was in a spot and he decided to bail him out; hence he has been so reasonable with his pricing for Boney’s film.”Know-alls also insist that Salman may get a share in the profits made from Wanted...; however that is not priority for the actor, who has done Boney’s film only to help him tide over a financial crunch.Subhash Ghai who worked with Salman in Yuvvraaj says, “I don’t know what Salman is charging other producers. All I can say is that he is a boy with a golden heart. If he finds his producer is in a spot, then he will definitely reduce his fee or even waive it off. But he must be convinced about a situation. This guy thinks with his heart.’’Incidentally it is being said that the A-list actors have started to take cuts in their remuneration. Sanjay Dutt is said to have been paid Rs15 crores upfront for a two-hero project that is nearing completion. “Yet today Sanjay has negotiated a film for Rs 4 crores,” says a trade analyst.Akshay Kumar, who had joked saying “My wife Tina knows that the only thing that turns me on is the smell of money”’ has also apparently offered his friend Ratan Jain a discount in pricing for his film De Dhana Dhan. It is learnt that Akshay was to charge Rs 44 crores originally for the film; but the price he will now take is nowhere close to that amount.Amod Mehra says, “There is a character actor who still refuses to do a film for less than a crore (his market price) and there are a few others too who are adamant about pricing; but most of the sensible guys have understood the crisis situation.”A film corporation that has recently shut its feature film division; and is just completing work on their pending projects is rumoured to have paid Sunny Deol Rs 3.75 crores. And, Arjun Rampal post Rock On has pushed up his price to Rs 2.5 crores.“However most actors have realised that their producers can no longer sell their films for the monies that they did a year ago; and have re-negotiated their contracts,’’ says film-maker Sanjay Gupta. Double digits may now be hard to come by even in a superstar’s pay packet; at least till the market condition improves.

Deepika Padukone wakes up as early as 6 am everyday. No, she doesn’t go jogging to beau Ranbir Kapoor’s bungalow which is next door. Instead she heads for the garden in her building and begins her fitness routine that includes yoga, free-hand exercises, et al. Her neighbours initially were curious about her everyday routine. But hardly anyone partook in this exercise regime in the garden. However, after seeing how diligent the gorgeous actress is about her fitness routine many of the neighbours have now started joining her. Deepika, who loves the outdoors and is a keen sports enthusiast thanks to badminton champ and dad Prakash Padukone, is now the envy and the pride of the Pali Hill neighbourhood because of her hour-glass figure. Way to go girl

Piyush Jha: Shooting SIKANDAR in Kashmir was a peaceful affair

Over the years one has heard horror stories from film makers who have attempted to shoot in the valley of Kashmir. Rahul Dholakia's LAMHAA is the recent example of a film that faced issues in Kashmir when Bipasha Basu returned to Mumbai in the middle of shoot due to safety concerns. However, Piyush Jha, director of SIKANDAR, says that he didn't find shooting in the valley troublesome at all and had a peaceful and productive stint in the state. ''Really, I didn't actually find it so challenging to shoot in Kashmir'', says the film maker who has moved on to a sensitive subject after making two comedies CHALO AMERICA and KING OF BOLLYWOOD. CHECK OUT: SIKANDAR Movie Preview''Kashmir was an absolutely beautiful place to be in. We shot in the spring time because the view of the valley in that season is so spectacular. Also, I wanted to show Kashmir the way it was portrayed in the films of 60's and 70's. We didn't really have any issues shooting there as the people were very supportive and welcoming. It was a peaceful affair'', remembers Piyush. While the film's shooting went on quite peacefully and the crew didn't feel threatened due to the law and order situation in Kashmir, there were some logistical challenges that the film's unit had to encounter. ''The only difficulty was off the terrain to get from one point to another as we were shooting in mountains and jungles. They were really difficult to access and resulted in quite some time being spent in just traveling. Moreover, it was quite tiring as well'', says Piyush who has brought together actors like Madhavan and Sanjay Suri along with teenage actors Parzan Dastur and Ayesha Kapur for his film. CHECK OUT: Newspaper reports inspired the making of SIKANDARA co-production of BIG Pictures & Sudhir Mishra, SIKANDAR is a suspense thriller, which tells the story of a 14 year old schoolboy Sikander (Parzan) living in Kashmir with his uncle and aunt. One day, on his way home, from a school football match, Sikandar finds a gun lying on the path, which changes his life forever. Previously known as FOOT SOLDIER in its production stages, SIKANDAR also stars Arunodoy Singh in a key role and is now expected to arrive in the month of June.

Akshay, Kareena going to Cannes?

If things go as planned, the eagerly awaited Bollywood movie Kambakkht Ishq will premiere at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival. The festival in the south of France can see Bollywood’s action and comedy king Akshay Kumar and style diva Kareena Kapoor walking the red carpet in May.High on style and oomph, ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ is a movie with an international appeal and tons of Hollywood glamour in the desirable shapes of stars like the ‘Rambo’ man Sylvester Stallone, ‘Wild Things’ sex siren Denise Richards, and ‘Superman’ Brandon Routh. So it’s not surprising that producer Sajid Nadiadwala is thinking of showcasing the film at Cannes.

Jiah Khan signs a 3-film deal with Madhu Mantena & 2-film deal with UTV

Incensed by the outrageous ouster of Jiah Khan from Ken Ghosh's Yahoo, the Ghajini producer Madhu Mantena has immediately signed Jiah for a 3-film deal."I think I owe her that," says Madhu Mantena, "Especially after the way she has been treated." Jiah who has so far been very quiet about the unceremonious dismissal finally spoke up about being sacked after shooting 90 percent of the film. "What can I say? The producer and director know best. God has a unique way of weaving things out. I must admit I was very low after what happened. When Madhu's call came it was like a sign from heaven." The actress met up with the producer on Monday afternoon. One of the films that Jiah has apparently been signed for is the much talked-about sequel to Ghajini. Jiah has learnt the virtues of caution. "It's much too early to talk about what we're doing together. But the important thing is, Madhu came forward when he thought I was in a situation. UTV whose film Yahoo I lost (apparently because the role was changed, and I've no reason to disbelieve them), have also signed me for a 2-film deal." Why sign Jiah for 2 films after sacking her? Jiah shrugs, "I'm too small, too new and too much of an outsider to comment on why UTV did what they did. I did work for almost two years on Yahoo. I performed a very difficult dance number with Shahid. And I was very proud of matching steps with him. Like I said it's not mine to question why." Jiah has also signed Sajid Khan's House Full where she has two other leading ladies Deepika Padukone and Lara Dutt fighting for Akshay Kumar's attention. "But I've my own track. And I get to do comedy for the first time. I was very good at comedy in acting school." Then after a pause she says, "At last I've something to laugh about". The hurt of rejection and betrayal is barely concealed under the wry laughter.

SRK - Salman to clash?

If all goes well, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan will come face to face on July 3. The clash is purely professional, what with their respective films - SRK's DULHA MIL GAYA and Salman's WANTED - hitting the screens on that Friday.DULHA MIL GAYA producer Viveck Vaswani is eyeing 3rd July because "July 4 is Independence Day in America and Shah Rukh enjoys a massive following there. I would like to capitalize on the Independence Day weekend," Viveck tells me. Which means DULHA MIL GAYA will clash with Salman Khan's WANTED. "If Boney Kapoor says he's committed for 3rd July and requests me to shift my film to another week, I will do so. But so far there haven't been any talks," Viveck clarifies. DULHA MIL GAYA is far from complete. Reportedly, SRK's portions remain to be filmed. "The talkie is complete. Just one qawwali remains to be shot, which can be included at the last minute too," Viveck reveals. He also rubbishes rumours that SRK has delayed the film. "Shah Rukh had informed me at the very outset of his busy schedule and the possibility of the film getting delayed. The delay is not because of him, it's because of me. An important schedule went haywire when my father passed away. Later, Shah Rukh suffered an injury on my sets, hence things have been pushed forward." Meanwhile, DULHA MIL GAYA continues to remain in news. The latest is, Anil Ambani's Big Pictures has relinquished the rights of the project. True? "Yes, they have. The withdrawal was due to re-strategizing the company, given the current economic scenario. But I'll offer them the film once it's ready. If they want to pick up the rights then, it's okay. Else, the money invested by Big will be refunded at the time of release," he states.

"Politics? No Thanks!" says Amitabh Bachchan

Strongly refuting the lately-perpetrated speculation on his return to politics Amitabh Bachchan says, "I'm not into politics at all of any kind. There's absolutely no question of my going into politics. I've repeatedly said I don't understand politics, nor do I have any wish to get into it in any capacity. Let me say once and for all I'm not going to get into it . I don't make any political statements. Nor am I on any political platform. I'm not qualified to understand or participate in any of our politics."
But then what about Amar Singh's statement to the effect that the Big B might be asked to stand elections? "Ask him why he said what he said. Why are you asking me?" reasons the Big B calmly.
The Big B admits that perhaps his close association with politicians who are his friends, often leads to the belief that he is going the political way. "I agree I've many friends who are heavily into politics and affiliated to many different parties. But I do not follow any of their political ideology. You are also my friend. Does it mean I might take to journalism? Or would it be right to presume that you'd become an actor just because you know me so well?"
While the speculation on Tuesday ran rife after a close family- friend Amar Singh alluded to the Big B's return to politics, the actor was busy shooting a music video for his forthcoming release Baabul. "The video is woven around my song Kehta hai babul. I think they'll use my song only in the credit titles and the end titlesor maybe a portion in the background."
About the controversy surrounding Abhishek receiving the Yash Bharti award in Lucknow , the Big B responds, "Achcha hai. There should be debate and questioning in any free society. We're a democratic country and everyone is entitled to an opinion."

Shilpa Shetty wont marry this October

This week there has being lots of speculation in tinsel town, for example Shilpa Shetty to marry her boy friend Raj Kundra in October but its not true as the marriage date is on the cards but not this October.
We spoke to Shilpa Shetty’s close source,
“It’s wrong news that she is getting married this October with Raj Kundra. She is busy with the IPL and latter on with her films and her production house. She had told the media that she is planning to get married after October and media just made this news about her marriage.”
To make it clear Shilpa Shetty clears her stand about her marriage,
“I got to know that I was getting married this October from the media. Just to clear the record in an interview that I did in London, I just said that I am looking forward to getting married sometime after October and haven’t thought of a month or a date.
I will be more than happy to make an official announcement the day we are ready for marriage but for now the congratulatory calls can be kept on hold.”

Asin denies having affair with Salman Khan

Bollywood actress Asin Thottumkal has denied having any sort of romantic inclination towards Salman Khan. The Ghajini star added that Salman Khan was her co-star in London Dreams and their relationship was very professional. On the news doing rounds that her bedroom is full of Salman’s posters Asin replied that nobody had access to her bedroom and these news reports are baseless.
Rumours started doing the rounds of the tinsel town about Salman’s linkup with Asin after the two were often seen mingling around on the sets of London Dreams. Salman Khan would be protective about the southern stars as she was new to Bollywood. Well Asin is the surely the most talked about girl in Bollywood and the most eligible bachelor definitely has reasons to be attracted towards her. After all Salman is 43 and his girl Katrina Kaif seems in no mood to tie the knot with him.

Shahid? Shhhh… says Priyanka!

While Bollywood Actress Priyanka Chopra was shooting for Dostana in Miami, she wasn’t even thinking of Shahid Kapoor, the alleged new man in her life.
But then Vishal Bahradwaj, who was casting for Kaminey wanted PC to play the part of Sweety so badly, that he flew down all the way to Miami just to give her a narration. Of course, Piggy Chops was blown away by the script, and once she started shooting for the film, she was blown away by her co-star, too. Shahid swept her off her feet, just like that. We guess the steamy scenes did it for them. But unlike other actresses, Piggy isn’t telling, and refuses to wear her boyfriend on her arm. “I’m just not like that,” she maintains. So while her lips were sealed when asked about her man, Hurman then, she remains shhhh… about Shahid now. Who has the key to this ‘lip-lock’?

SRK's Korbo, Lorbo... is passe

Korbo, Lorbo, Jeetbo Re – these were the lyrics of the Kolkata Knight Riders anthem last year. But that was when the IPL was held in India. Now, since the tournament has shifted to South Africa, SRK’s team has also changed its anthem, so that supporters there can easily chant it when the team takes to the field. “The tournament has moved to SA. Keeping that in view, the anthem Korbo, Lorbo... has been changed. The beats are different and the lyrics too will have a more international feel to it,” said a source close to the team.Looks like Shah Rukh Khan is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring the success of his team this time round. That might be the reason why there are rumours that the video of the song will also be re-shot. “SRK has heard the song and there are talks of a new video being shot for it. But nothing is confirmed as of now,” informed the source. The original video for the song featured SRK in the team’s golden-and-black colours – wearing a dhoti in Kolkata ishtyle. Do you have a golden-black bermuda in mind now, Shah Rukh?

Asin beats Katrina once again

A girl from down south Tamil Nadu stepped into the glam-world of Bollywood alongside Mr. perfectionist Amir Khan in Ghajini. It seems now the gorgeous lady is planning to hit all the biggies of Bollywood starting with the top three Khans of the tinsel town. Where she is starring opposite Bollywood’s bad boy Salman Khan in London Dreams, we have heard that she would also be seen opposite Badshah Shahrukh Khan, that too under the dream banner of Yash Raj
Films. Initially it was Bollywood diva Katrina Kaif, who was going to don this role but Salman’s dushmani with Shahrukh, earned Asin this flick. It’s not the first time and first girl friend of Sallu that our Badshah didn’t wanted to work with.Previously SRK was not even interested in working with Ashwariya Rai in Chalte Chalte and it was Rani Mukherjee who benefited from this.Well, all we can say is that the stars are shining bright for Asin and she should make the most of it as it’s said, “Make hay while the sun shines.”
